St. Anthony Catholic School, presently celebrating its 98th year, is located in "the heart of Brookland." The school serves approximately 225 students in Pre-K3 through grade 8.
St. Anthony follows the academic standards of the Archdiocese of Washington.100% of its graduates are accepted into the most competitive Catholic and private high schools in the region.
Sudents are exposed to the arts, band, computers, library skills, music, physical education, and Spanish. A variety of extra-curricular clubs are offered. They include basketball, book club, student council, and choir.
Teaching the faith is vital to the school's mission. Students have daily religious instruction, participate in monthly service projects, learn about the saints, and celebrate the liturgy every Friday. Students are also encouraged to join the parish choir, boy scouts, girl scouts, altar servers, and other youth ministries.
St. Anthony students are both taught the faith and given opportunities to live it out. Service learning is explicitly integrated into the culture of St. Anthony. Each classroom organizes a service project. This may include visiting a local nursing home or raising money for tsunami victims. School-wide service projects include community outreach such as participating in a canned food drive or walking to raise awareness for the homeless.
